Centenary of José López. Guadalajara photographer (1911 – 1982)

The photographer José López Ramiro carried out his professional activity during the period 1932-1975.

As a result of this work, more than 3,000 images have been preserved, including portraits and snapshots of groups and collectives that reflect moments of highly diverse professional activity; as well as institutional, cultural and leisure celebrations.

Through them, both the daily history of the city's residents and the most important public events (political, social, cultural, sporting...) that have taken place in the capital throughout those four decades have been documented in detail. Thanks to the generous deposit made by his heirs at CEFIHGU, they are now available to the general public.

Along with the images, a very interesting collection of cameras used in the studio during the years in which the photographer practiced his profession has arrived at the center.

Proof of all this is this anthological exhibition organized as a tribute to the photographer on the occasion of his centenary.

In this exhibition through the web we have made a selection of photographs that you can see in our Multipurpose room of the San José Center from March 24 to May 7, 2011
