French illustrator, installed in Spain since 1843 and initiated in photography since 1857, he worked as court portraitists and reporter, among other publications, for La Ilustración Española y Americana and La Crónica. For this reason, he toured a large part of the peninsular geography, taking hundreds of photographs of Spanish monuments and types. As a result of this arduous task, he published, in 1879, a list of works of more than five thousand plates: Guide du touriste en Espagne et en Portugal. In this collection, seven snapshots are dedicated to the capital, two to Cogolludo, one to Sigüenza and five to landscapes and types of the province; although, later, this list will expand enormously with the work carried out by his collaborators from the firm Laurent y Cía.
