José Ortiz Echagüe Born in Guadalajara in 1886, he studied engineering and military aviation, while developing his creativity in experimental photography. He is undoubtedly the greatest exponent of Spanish photo pictorialism, a technique that he developed to its ultimate consequences. But his scientific spirit surpassed that of the reactions and photographic components to promote the business development of this country, promoting the creation of aircraft and automobile industries. His photographic creations were sufficiently well known in Spain, Europe and the United States from the edition of his collections in very interesting volumes, such as Mystical Spain, Spain: Types and Costumes, Spain: Towns and Landscapes or Spain: Castles and Alcázares.
